WROUGHT IRON PERGOLA
This pergola, which fully enclosed a formal garden, had distinct meetings of the components at each corner, the most complex of which had to accommodate flow along both North-South and East-West axes. At this particular corner, the diagonal arcs had a different curvature than the orthogonal ones. The craftspersonship had to be precise enough such that the arcs could receive each rod purlin along the curve. The geometry of this pergola, done in with AutoCAD's fairly primitive 3D tools, was tremendous fun to figure out.
